Lynda Córdova Carter, Wonder Woman 1975-1979
Carter’s mother, Juana Córdova, was of Mexican ancestry; her father, Colby Carer, Irish American.
Carter said, “I never thought a picture of my body would be tacked up in men’s bathrooms. I hate men looking at me and thinking what they think. And I know what they think. They write and tell me.”
Carter on Wonder Woman:
“She was accessible. People either wanted to be her, or be her best friend. She lives in us. There’s a part of her that is the secret self, the unrecognized self that we all have.”
